Surrender (Part 8) God’s Love

Through the overflow of God’s love in us, we respond in humility, discipline, hope, and service. All praise and honor belong to God when our response is not a duty, but a result of surrender to His love.

Galatians 6:9-10
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. In surrender, we do not grow weary but continue to gain new strength.
Isaiah 40:30-31
Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, 31 Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

As we surrender to God’s love, we intentionally trust in the Lord and lean on His understanding (Prov. 3:5-6). We believe and apply the truth of God’s word and expect God to complete what He has begun (Phil. 1:6). We wait for the Lord with hope and renewed strength.

Surrender highlights God’s immense worth. He is our hope in all circumstances. Through surrender, responding to God replaces reacting to circumstances.

Through surrender to God we win. We win abundant life, eternal joy, and peace that overcomes circumstances. Surrender is the response that embraces God’s plan of fulfillment, purpose and hope both now and for all of eternity.

As God perfects, refines, and makes us holy and righteous, surrender is always required. We practice embracing surrender to God as victory. His strength carries us through all things.

Philippians 4:11-13
Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

We come to the place of agreement with Paul, that in all things we are content because God meets all our needs.

This is true freedom in Christ—responding to God instead of reacting to circumstances.
