Seek God (Part 4) Drawn to Him

Magnets are amazing. They are great models of the concept that humans are created to seek God. If you hold something made of iron, nickel or cobalt next to a magnet it will immediately respond to the magnet. If the magnet is extremely strong, the attraction will even rip the metal right out of your hand. Iron, nickel, cobalt and a few other rare earth elements were created to respond to magnets. This is a characteristic of those metals.

Humans are created to respond to God. God draws us to Him, much like magnetic attraction, an unseen yet powerful force. We are created to respond to God. Just as iron responds to a magnet, we are created to respond to our Creator. This drawing toward God is initiated by His great love for us.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God is the eternal power that draws us to Him. We see evidence of Him all around us through creation—invisible force with visible results.

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

We are without excuse because His eternal power, faithfulness, and loving grace are seen and understood from creation. What excuses do you make for not seeking God daily?

The next time you are making an excuse, consider whether you are seeking God or seeking to satisfy self.

God’s character is righteous and His ways are above our ways As we desire to know Him more, to learn of His ways, and to grow in Him, our longings will be satisfied.
